The service
Life Feature produces personal documentary films commissioned by individuals and families. Each commission includes a pre-filming consultation, the filming session(s) described in your chosen package, editing, and delivery of the finished film digitally and (where included in your package) as a physical keepsake.
Booking and payment
A commission is confirmed when we receive a booking deposit of 30% of the package price. The balance is due on delivery of the finished film. Deposits are refundable up to 14 days before the scheduled filming date, after which they are non-refundable because filming time has been reserved for you.
Rescheduling and cancellation
Life happens, especially around family. You may reschedule a filming date once at no charge with at least 72 hours notice. If you cancel after the 14-day window, the deposit is retained. If we have to cancel, you receive a full refund of everything paid, including the deposit.
Your film
The finished film is licensed to you and your family for personal, non-commercial use forever. You may share it privately with family and friends. Copyright in the film remains with Life Feature. You own your own story: we will never publish, sell or reuse your film or any part of it without your explicit written consent.
Archive materials
Photographs, home videos, letters and documents you provide remain yours. You confirm you have the right to share them with us for the purpose of making your film. Originals are handled with care and returned to you after production.
Revisions
Every package includes one round of reasonable revisions after you view the first cut. Further revision rounds are quoted individually. Because a documentary is a creative work, we cannot guarantee specific creative outcomes, but we will always work with you until the film is right.
Delivery timescales
We aim to deliver finished films within four to six weeks of the final filming day. If a commission becomes time-critical (for example, a milestone date), tell us at booking and we will confirm in writing whether we can meet it.
Liability
We hold public liability insurance for filming in your home. Our total liability for any claim arising from a commission is limited to the amount you have paid for that commission. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
